Visitor numbers at the 87nd TIF are increasing

Part of the proceeds from ticket sales at the 87th TIF will be donated to the victims of the deadly flooding in Thessaly and fires in Evros

TIF-HELEXPO’s initiative to allocate 10% of the proceeds from ticket sales at the 87th TIF to the victims of the deadly flooding in Thessaly and fires in Evros, with a minimum amount of 100,000 euros, is gaining ground.

Visitor numbers at the Fair and people’s interest are gradually increasing, as the 87th TIF, a dynamic and multi-faceted event, is a pole of attraction for people of all ages and all preferences.

TIF-HELEXPO is standing by the victims throughout the country experiencing extremely difficult times, and calls on everyone to visit the 87th TIF to support the initiative of the National Exhibition Agency.

Yesterday, during yet another enchanting evening, Alkistis Protopsalti captivated the audience at the TIF ‘Music Events Live’ performing top hits from her rich repertoire.

Today, Thodoris Ferris and Josephine will take over, singing all the well-known hit singles that have made them a household name and mainly attract fans of younger ages. Visitors can attend the concerts using their Fair admission ticket.

Entrepreneurship and extroversion are of particular importance to TIF, and this year, under the auspices of the Chambers of Greece and the Union of Hellenic Chambers, 49 Chambers and 382 SMEs are participating in the Fair. 4 Chambers of Commerce, the Professional Chamber of Thessaloniki, the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Thessaloniki Chamber of Small & Medium-Sized Industries are all participating in this year’s Fair. For the first time, the Thessaloniki Chamber of Small & Medium-Sized Industries is organising ‘Thessfashion’, a special thematic section on clothing, footwear and accessories, in Pavilion 16, with the participation of major players in the fashion industry. The companies participating in the Chamber's innovative venture are approximately 40 in number, while ‘Thessfashion’ will include two fashion shows, which will be open to the public, on Saturday, 16 September, from 18.00 to 21.00 (women’s, men's clothing, footwear and accessories) and on Sunday, 17 September, at 12.00 (children's clothing).

The circular economy event is also of great interest to both businesses and visitors, as it features companies presenting innovative heating and cooling systems, specialised applications and products, as well as interesting proposals for modern construction. With over 55 exhibitors in outdoor and indoor spaces, this event is tangible proof of TIF-HELEXPO’s commitment to recycling and environmental protection. The 87th TIF is also part of the National Exhibition Agency's initiative titled ‘Zero Waste Expo’, with 20 recycling points within the exhibition centre for organic, recyclable and non-recyclable waste.

Visitors to the pavilion of Bulgaria, the Honored Country of this year’s TIF, have the opportunity to watch the presentation of ‘Supercomputer’, a world-class petascale computer, as well as attend presentations and demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies and educational actions for new STEM learning methods. Bulgaria is organising numerous cultural events, including musical, dramatic and dance performances. Today, from 17:00 to 21:00, visitors can enjoy the stylings of the National Academy of Music’s Jazz Band.

The TIF (Five-a-side) Football Tournament, with the key message of "No to violence", is being be held today (from 19:00 to 21:00), under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, in cooperation with ‘Panorama’ Athletic Club, featuring matches between Thessaloniki journalists and artists, directors and camera operators.

The 55th TIF RALLY to take place on 16 and 17 September

The 55th TIF RALLY, one of the most historic races in Greece, is being organised by the Racing Club of Thessaloniki (AOTH) on 16 and 17 September.

This year’s edition of the TIF RALLY includes 4 special stages on asphalt, with a total length of 89.1 racing kilometres.

During today’s press conference on the TIF RALLY, the President of the Racing Club of Thessaloniki, Mr Sokratis Tsolakidis, noted that the TIF RALLY is one of the top races in Greece, second only to the ACROPOLIS RALLY, and thanked TIF-HELEXPO for its long-standing support.

In turn, the CEO of TIF-HELEXPO, Mr Kyriakos Pozrikidis, stressed that what makes the race so vibrant are the contestants, the crews and the audience, adding that the exhibition agency is doing what anyone would do, i.e. it is supporting a city institution in the field of motor sports.

In fact, he underlined that crews from the affected region of Thessaly will be participating in the rally and stressed that TIF-HELEXPO is and will remain on the side of the RCT and the TIF RALLY.

The 87th TIF is being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior (Macedonia-Thrace) and the Region of Central Macedonia.
