While the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) is preparing to conclude, the celebration is reaching its peak this final weekend, with Thessaloniki moving to the rhythm of the exhibition and public interest remaining high. Greece and Entrepreneurship, Technology-Research-Innovation, Akademia, Energy-Circular Economy, Regions–Tastes of Greece, AutoThessaloniki, Cosmos–International Participations, Public Bodies–Organizations, Gastronomy–Nutrition, the Hobby Festival, and Furniture–Home Equipment all come together at the 89th TIF, covering a wide range of diverse interests. And, of course, children are in the spotlight through the JuniorLand section.
For a little while longer, the McLaren Formula 1 Team car, brought to the Fair by OPAP, a member of Allwyn, continues to welcome visitors, offering them a unique experience as proven by the long queues outside its stand.
At a central point of Pavilion 1, which hosts the Ministry of National Defense, visitors can explore the V-BAT system, a mid-size unmanned aerial vehicle designed for surveillance, reconnaissance, and data collection missions. What makes it stand out is its ability to take off and land vertically without the need for a runway. Another impressive feature of the pavilion is the "Modern Warrior" – the evolution of the soldier. Here, the 2030 Armed Forces supersoldier is showcased with the full equipment they will carry, from protective gear to small drones and advanced capabilities for nighttime operations and modern battlefield connectivity.
Today, visitors can also join in a giant human pinball game and participate in a mini tabletop games tournament in the outdoor areas of the 89th TIF.
Meanwhile, at Pavilion 6, starting from 18:30, the Regions of Eastern Macedonia–Thrace and Central Greece will be cooking as part of the “Tastes of Greece” section, showcasing their local recipes and delicacies.
In the outdoor areas, the audience will also enjoy a unique street performance with stilt walkers.
Today, the Youth Band Battle enters its final stretch, with Blue Comet performing at 19:30, Enorki (Sial–Casus Belli) at 20:00, and Marquis at 21:00 on the stage between Pavilions 9 & 13.
The 57th TIF Rally “Tasos Kyrlagkitsis” also begins today, starting at 20:30 from the TIF South Gate, and concluding tomorrow at the same spot after 16:00. The awards ceremony will take place at 18:30.
Tonight at 21:30, on the Music Events Live stage, comes Anastasia, the viral phenomenon of the Greek music scene, to set the 89th TIF alight. Visitors can attend the concert free of charge with their exhibition ticket.
Sakis Rouvas lit up the stage last night, bringing the crowd together and uniting generations in an exceptional musical show.
Today and tomorrow, the Fair's opening hours are 10:00 to 22:00.
